Researchers in Germany say certain chemicals in the brain could hold a key to the treatmentof anxiety disorders like phobias and panic attacks.
They say the human brain produces cannabinoids which have similiar effects to the activeingredients in marijuana.
And they say experiments on rats and mice have shown that cannabinoids can erase badmemories from the brain's "fear centre".
The findings have been published today in the British scientific journal Nature.
